Mobile e-learning/enabling technologies

Combining mobile devices and enabling technologies with e-learning form the basis for powerful mobile learning environments.

Since 2006, Sensus has been involved in developing mobile enabling technologies based on the Microsoft Windows Mobile platform for the visually and print impaired.  The solutions include image-recognition and text-to-speech applications and embedded text-to-Braille translation solutions.

As a member of the MELFO (Mobile eLearning for the Dyslexic)  and MELFA (Mobile eLearning for Africa) consortia, Sensus has furthermore contributed to the creation of mobile learning solutions for the poor readers, dyslexic and illiterate. Other consortium members include the University of Copenhagen, Danish Building Research Institute, University of Stellenbosch, Catchword Pty Ltd and Motto Captura ApS.
