Opportunities for Volunteers
Sensus is currently conduction a number of leading-edge research projects into how information technology, telecommunication, multimedia and the internet may be exploited by people with special needs.
Skills
As we conduct a number of projects on a not-for-profit basis, Sensus is seeking contact with university students and graduates (computer science, human communication and computer interaction, human/computer interaction, linguistics, phonetics, psychology, …) with an interest in alternate use of leading-edge technology.
We are also seeking contact with disabled computer users who are interested in assisting in the identification of needs and the specification of requirements and evaluation of tools and technologies.
We are based in Denmark, but communicate in English. As such, a reasonable proficiency in English is required. Furthermore, command of one or more of the European languages will be of great benefit.
Compensation
The majority of our activities are purely research which do not generate revenues. In cases of revenue-generating activities, we will be able to offer compensation for some of your time as well as for required hardware and software.
Location
Your actual physical (geographical) location is of less importance since we deploy a range of electronic communication means to facilitate virtual project teams on a worldwide basis.
Interested?
If you are looking for a subject for your thesis, or if you want to contribute to the development of simple, inexpensive and powerful tools for the blind in your spare time, simply send an email to sensus@sensus.dk with a brief description of your background and areas of interest.
